Our client is seeking a Site Plan & Development Compliance Specialist to support development compliance, site plan review, and stakeholder engagement efforts throughout Arlington County. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in urban planning, zoning, land development, property management, real estate, code compliance, or local government.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of development and site plan compliance assignments
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to verify compliance with development requirements
  • Work directly with developers and property managers to provide guidance and technical assistance
  • Review site plans, architectural drawings, construction plans, and related documentation
  • Maintain compliance records, reports, and database documentation
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to address compliance issues and support development projects
  • Assist with research and process improvement initiatives related to site plan and development programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience
  • 2-4+ years of experience in urban planning, zoning, land development, property management, real estate, code compliance, or a related field
  • Ability to read and interpret site plans, architectural drawings, and construction documents
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems
  • Comfortable conducting onsite inspections and working directly with developers and property managers

Preferred

  • Experience with local government, planning departments, zoning, permitting, or development review processes
  • Experience with transportation planning, sustainability programs, or compliance initiatives

Must-Haves

  • 2-4+ years of relevant planning, zoning, development, real estate, property management, or compliance experience
  • Ability to review and interpret site plans and construction drawings
  • Experience working with developers, property managers, municipalities, or related stakeholders
  • Strong project coordination and communication skills
  • Comfortable with both office-based work and site visits
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
